KAF Digital Bank Ignites Retail Business Appointing Suzaini Bin Mukhtar as Chief Executive Officer
KUALA LUMPUR, 1 February 2026 – KAF Digital Bank Berhad (“KAF Digital Bank”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Suzaini bin Mukhtar as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 1 February 2026.
Suzaini, who joined the bank as Deputy CEO in late 2025, succeeds the founding leadership team as the bank moves into its next phase of commercial growth. With nearly 30 years of extensive experience in Islamic banking across Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). His appointment marks a strategic transition as the bank continues to scale its digital-first, Shariah-compliant services.
A seasoned practitioner, Suzaini’s expertise spans retail banking, wealth management, and corporate banking. He has a distinguished track record in driving digitisation, product innovation, and financial inclusion. Prior to joining KAF Digital Bank, he was managing Deposit, Payment and Financial Inclusion at Bank Simpanan Malaysia (BSN) where he led sales and states performance management, financial inclusions, remittances & digital banking onboarding and adoptions, marketing and segmentation, product innovation and transformation as well as business strategy and analytic.
Throughout his career, Suzaini has held key leadership positions at several global and local financial institutions, including Standard Chartered Saadiq, Emirates Islamic Bank (Dubai), HSBC Amanah, and Hong Leong Bank. His contributions at these organisations have consistently earned industry recognition and awards for excellence in banking.
Suzaini holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh, USA, and an M.B.A. in Strategic Management from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
